How Much Do Hair Extensions Cost in Denver?
“How much do hair extensions cost?” is the most common question we hear from new clients — and the most difficult to answer without knowing your hair. The truth is that extensions pricing depends on the method, the amount of hair needed, and your maintenance schedule. But we believe in transparency, so here’s a real breakdown of what to expect in Denver.
The Two Costs of Extensions
Before diving into specific numbers, it’s important to understand that extensions have two separate costs: the hair itself (sold separately, priced per bundle/pack by length and weight) and the installation service (the labor your stylist performs). Most salons in Denver bundle these together, which can make pricing confusing. At Fluff Extensions Studio, we separate them so you know exactly what you’re paying for.
All prices below reflect our installation service fees. Hair is purchased separately based on the length, volume, and color match your stylist recommends during your consultation.
Installation Pricing by Method
Hand-Tied Weft Extensions
Hand-tied wefts are priced by the number of rows installed. Most clients need 2-4 rows depending on how much volume and length they want.
A single row installation starts at $235 and takes about 1.5 hours. A full 4-row installation starts at $645 and takes approximately 4 hours. Mini maintenance (move-ups) range from $45 for a single row to $145 for 4-6 rows.
Butterfly Weft Extensions
As the newest and fastest method, butterfly weft pricing reflects the streamlined installation process. A mini row starts at $145 (45 minutes), a single row at $200, and two rows at $425. Every butterfly weft appointment includes a wash and luxury blowout.
Forever Tape-In Extensions
A mini row starts at $175 and a full single row at $250. Two-row installations start at $450. The longer maintenance cycle (6-8 weeks vs. 4-6) means fewer salon visits over time.
Traditional Tape-In Extensions
Tape-in maintenance is priced by weft count. Up to 10 wefts starts at $175, and up to 40 wefts starts at $475. Each maintenance appointment includes removal, shampoo, re-tabbing, reinstallation, and style.
K-Tip Fusion Extensions
K-tip pricing depends on the number of strands. Pricing starts at $200 per 25 bonds for senior artists. New talent artists offer rates starting at $100 per 25 bonds — a great way to get beautiful K-tip results at a lower price point.
I-Tip Microbead Extensions
Up to 25 I-tips starts at $180.
Mesh Integration
Starting at $250 for a 3-hour appointment with our certified mesh integration specialist. This is a specialized service for clients with thinning hair or hair loss.

What About the Hair Itself?
The cost of the actual hair extensions varies based on length (14-24 inches), weight (how many grams/bundles), type (Remy human hair vs. other grades), and color (custom colors and blends typically cost more). Your stylist will recommend the exact amount during your consultation and source it for you.
As a general range, expect to budget anywhere from $200 to $800+ for the hair itself depending on how much you need. Clients going for a subtle volume add will be on the lower end, while those wanting dramatic length and fullness will be higher.
Ongoing Maintenance Costs
Extensions are not a one-time purchase — they require regular maintenance to stay healthy, secure, and looking natural. Here’s what to budget annually by method:
Hand-tied wefts: Move-ups every 8-10 weeks. Budget $45-$145 per maintenance visit depending on the number of rows.
Butterfly wefts: Maintenance every 4-6 weeks. The quick installation time keeps per-visit costs manageable.
Tape-ins: Re-taping every 4-6 weeks at $175-$515 depending on weft count.
K-tips: The longest maintenance cycle — 3-6 months between appointments. Removal runs $100 per 50 grams.
How to Save Money on Extensions
Extensions are an investment, but there are smart ways to protect that investment and get more value:
Choose the right method for your lifestyle. If you can’t commit to 4-6 week maintenance appointments, a method with a longer cycle (like K-tips or hand-tied wefts) will save you money long-term even if the upfront cost is higher.
Follow your aftercare routine religiously. The single biggest factor in how long your extensions last is how you care for them. Using the right products and techniques can extend the life of your hair by months. Check out our complete aftercare guide.
Don’t skip maintenance appointments. Skipping a move-up to save money almost always backfires. Extensions that grow out too far can tangle, mat, and cause damage to your natural hair — leading to more expensive repairs.
Consider new talent pricing. Our newer artists offer lower rates while they build their books. They’re fully certified and trained by Brittany Chambers (20+ year industry veteran) — you’re getting the same quality at a reduced price.
